The rise of personal blogs: How to leave comments while surfing the web

With the popularity of personal blogs in recent years and the rise of website building, a personal blog can be set up with just a domain name and a cloud platform. We ordinary onlookers are limited by our fear of trouble and have little interaction with bloggers. Today, I will provide a tutorial on blog comments, teaching everyone how to leave comments in simple language.

After all, a certain product manager has a habit of educating users, which led to this tutorial.

Finding Blogs#

Taking bloggers as an example, blogs generally appear in search engines (such as: Google & Bing) or in project/video descriptions. When you see a string of links, one is usually a citation link, and the other is basically a blog. There are also personal descriptions in video bloggers' profiles, such as mine.

So for the first point, we shouldn't search for problems on Baidu. This not only fails to find quality blogs but also increases the chances of seeing unauthorized blog reposts on other websites (like: CSDN). Ordinary bloggers do not have the budget to pay for Baidu's SEO optimization.

After previewing the blog, if you want to comment to tell the blogger or share with netizens immediately, leaving a comment might be a good way!

Unlike streaming media websites (like: Bilibili/YouTube/TikTok), we may need to understand blogs. On streaming platforms, comments and bullet screens receive likes and replies, and most of them are seen through app notifications.

Email#

For our blog, we need an email address to receive replies. I believe everyone has a QQ account that can receive emails. Generally, if you haven't changed your email address, it's just your QQ number + @qq.com (e.g., [email protected]), which is the most common email. Go to QQ Mail and log in with your QQ number. After logging in successfully, the top left corner will show your QQ nickname and your email address.

If you say, "No one uses QQ anymore," you can set up an email app for notifications, especially the email apps provided by phone manufacturers, which can easily add your email to your phone, at least through system-level push notifications.

If you want something simpler, just download an app from your email service provider from the app store.

There are many email service providers, such as: Microsoft Outlook, Google Gmail, Foxmail, NetEase, etc.

Avatar#

Fill in your email and name, and send. Why doesn't the blog comment display an avatar? Actually, the reason it doesn't display an avatar is that you haven't registered Gravatar.

Gravatar is a platform for unified avatars. As long as we register Gravatar with our email. Go to Avatars, fill in a few of your commonly used emails, upload your avatar, click confirm, and then click on the avatar to apply it.

Because Gravatar's official website is affected by the GFW firewall, you need to use a VPN to access it. We also have another alternative, Cravatar, which is a domestic accelerated mirror of Gravatar and has its own "three-level avatar matching," and the best part is that it can retrieve your QQ email avatar. The number of CMS using Cravatar is unknown, but in any case, Gravatar is recommended first!

The Three Giants#

Sharp-eyed friends may have noticed that every blog comment system is quite similar. The mainstream CMS on the market now includes WordPress, Typecho, Halo, Hexo, etc. Due to different themes, the comment interface varies as well.

We only need to fill in the required nickname and email address. As for the website link, you can even fill in your Bilibili link; there's no need to follow the crowd and create a separate website.

Some email fields can even recognize QQ numbers, and entering it will notify you through QQ email, though this is supported by very few (this site does not support it).

Now you can freely explore blogs! If you see a blog post you like, leave a comment to support the blogger, after all, most bloggers write out of passion. You can also start exploring through the blogger's links!
