Non-commercial orders, buy as needed, beware of consumerism traps
This year’s 618; oh no, it should be the whole month of June, I bought or received quite a few things, some due to the forced consumption upgrade of old devices. I’m just casually jotting down how much I spent this year during 618, essentially a form of sharing and summarizing. I actually wanted to write a diary, but this content is a bit long, so forget it...
iPhone SE3#
This is the machine I replaced for my mom's iPhone 6. You heard it right, it’s the iPhone 6. WeChat had already given up on upgrading the 6 series over a year ago, and iOS has also stalled at 12 because the screen touch sensitivity is poor; I can’t click the top left corner, but the top right corner works. It’s truly baffling. I took the opportunity to replace this old device, purchasing the 64G version on JD for 2588 yuan. I bought it in the afternoon, and it arrived the next morning. The packaging was very “eco-friendly,” just a phone and a lightning to type-c data cable, along with a card. It really is small, just the same size. Upon receiving it, I found that I couldn’t sync some data, whether it was due to the version being too old or something else. Luckily, iCloud had a backup.
There’s not much else to say. The A15 is fast, but I estimate it will soon be outdated too, haha...
ASUS FA506#
This laptop was a piece of junk I found on Xianyu, costing a total of 3520 yuan with the screen included. It has an AMD Ryzen7 4800H, two 8G dual-channel memory sticks, and a GeForce 1660Ti. Even if I replace the screen, it’s about worth this price, not to mention it’s still usable. Currently, it doesn’t affect my color grading much.
The gaming performance and professional software usage are not problematic at the moment. Windows 11 doesn’t have the R5 1600 card, and I need to replace the wireless card with an ax200...
I’ve already made a video about it, so check out the previous video blog.
Beikong J4125 Soft Router#
This is the Beikong J4125 soft router that Walnut just bought. A month ago, I also picked up a J4105, which is the same junk as mine, but the seller had removed the VGA and COM ports. Due to insufficient network ports and the 2.5G issue, he gave it up. Now I bought this soft router on Taobao for 633 yuan, equipped with a 4-port Intel i225 network card. However, after setting it up, I found that two of the network ports were faulty. When I plugged in two network cables, the problem surfaced. I later contacted customer service and returned it for a different case; the hard drive still works fine.
I haven’t made a video yet; I’ll take my time.
QC3.0 Charger && USB Port#
I’ve always wanted to buy a fast charger for use outside. One day, I saw a very cheap QC3.0 charger on Taobao. I checked the store, and they also sold similar brand stock chargers. I bought it for 12 yuan including shipping. It doesn’t feel like 18W when I use it. I don’t know if it’s a phone issue or if I’m just used to the 22.5W fast charging. I’ll try it again when I have time, but it’s still better than 5W.
I also bought a USB port fan for the soft router. This is a 12cm case fan from an NZXT case that broke. It was noisy when placed upright, but lying on the soft router, it helps dissipate heat comfortably. It was inexpensive, just 2.1 yuan with free shipping.
Xiaomi 20L Backpack && BANQ TF Card#
This Xiaomi 20L backpack was purchased on PDD. I originally disliked this platform, but this backpack was only 30 yuan, just enough to fit the chosen one. I bought it, and it’s genuinely large, able to hold more than my previously smallest capacity bag.
The BANQ TF card 64G was bought on JD, and it’s a collaboration with JD JOY. It looks very cheap and is a surveillance card. After using a coupon, it cost 27.9 yuan. I’m not sure if it’s genuine since it’s from JD’s self-operated store. I directly plugged it into the surveillance camera for recording. Normally, a 32G card can only record for 3 days, but now with 64G, it can record for about a week.
This surveillance camera is also quite miraculous. Others struggled for half a day with firmware to connect to Wi-Fi, but I tinkered with the firmware a couple of days ago and changed the region, and it worked. It’s the same chicken blood firmware; I’ll post it later to test its stability.
Thunderobot Wireless Mouse#
I mainly bought it for the laptop. The touchpad works, but it feels sluggish. I often switch the Logitech G102 between two computers. One day, I saw a gaming wireless mouse on JD for 69 yuan, and it also offered 1000 beans, although the beans hadn’t arrived while I was writing this. I don’t know if it’s a “highest” wordplay.
After buying this mouse, I didn’t test it much. It’s heavier and longer than the G102, and it feels like there’s no delay in gaming. The white side that touches the palm is quite comfortable, but other areas feel a bit cheap. I’ll need some time to adapt. However, I ended up buying it for 37.7 yuan.
After a month of use, I feel it’s okay. The DPI adjustment is particularly inconvenient; it would be better to have the DPI setting under the mouse. It’s not intuitive, and the workmanship is quite rough. However, the 1000 JD beans discount made the price acceptable.
Lafei Circle Iron HiFi Earphones#
Because my previous Xiaomi Circle Iron Pro had a copper wire leak, I’ve actually gotten used to this earphone. I checked the platform prices, and they’re still at the level I bought three years ago. I went to look at the famous Qianyun and Yuandao stores and found a pair of earphones that looked good, and the price was acceptable. The description was somewhat ambiguous, but I still saw the shadow of monitoring earphones? I bought a pair of earphones and a silver-plated cable. The earphones are a bit large, and I can imagine they’ll be tiring to wear for long periods, but they can be worn around the ears. I didn’t notice much difference in bass and treble, but the details are indeed better than the Xiaomi Circle Iron Pro. Gaming is about the same; it’s just wood ears.
After using it for a month, I personally feel the sound quality is quite good, but wearing it for long periods makes my ears tired, and I often want to take them off. I should take more breaks for my ears while gaming.
This month, I bought quite a few new items, feeling a mix of emotions. It’s just enough to use, so I’ll leave it at that. Bye-bye.
